The HAAH Board of Directors met twice in early 2010 to assess current pledges and discuss possible projects for the year. Current pledges totaled $38,500 which was insufficient to sponsor a new build with Habitat for Humanity.

On March 2, 2010, our Board met with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Columbus to discuss our options. They explained their participation in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program to aid in the reclamation of abandoned and foreclosed homes in Columbus. They explained the rehabilitation process and that a full sponsorship of such a rehab would be $50,000. As that figure was beyond our current reach, they agreed that we could lead a rehab project with a $40,000 sponsorship and they would pair us with a corporate sponsor of $10,000.

On April 5, 2010, our Board met and decided to proceed with a rehab project with Habitat for Humanity with a $40,000 sponsorship. A formal project application was submitted.

On May 3, 2010, our board approved a grant of $4,000 to Habitat for Humanity toward the sponsorship.

On August 30, 2010, Habitat for Humanity advised us that we had been assigned a rehab project on Minnesota Avenue. As contractors proceeded to gut the house, rehab issues arose. Ultimately, it was decided that the house would be rebuilt from the main deck up. Only the existing basement would remain.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2010, our volunteers were given permission to begin. View our progress week by week!

In June 2011 this home was completed. It was dedicated on June 18, 2011.

On October 3, 2011, our board approved a grant of $20,000 to Habitat for Humanity toward the sponsorhip of a build to commence in the spring of 2012.
